The Harushio Japan






The Harushio is a Japanese diesel-electric submarine class operated by the JMSDF. The design is an evolution from the Yuushio class being slightly larger and with better noise reduction. The Asashio, has been modified to test Air-independent propulsion (AIP).

Electronics: Sonar: Hughes/Oki ZQQ 5B hull mounted sonar, ZQR 1 towed array.
